Hayes Presidential research library modifies hours to align with peak research times

The presidential research library at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums will modify its hours starting Jan. 1 to better align with peak researcher visitation times.

In a change from past hours, the library will be open by appointment only for out-of-town researchers using manuscript materials on the fourth Saturday of the month and will be closed on the fifth Saturday of the month.

This move will not result in any staffing cuts and does not involve any budget cuts.

The decision was made to move staff to days that would allow them to better serve researchers at times when attendance is highest. Research appointments for the fourth Saturday of the month can be made by contacting Head Librarian John Ransom at jransom@rbhayes.org or 419-332-2081. Appointments should be made at least a week in advance.

Hayes Presidential is America’s first presidential library and the forerunner of the federal presidential library system. It is partially funded by the state of Ohio and affiliated with the Ohio History Connection. Hayes Presidential is located at Spiegel Grove on Buckland Avenue.
