  • Member Swap with the YMCA of Sandusky County. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums members can show their member card for free admission to The YMCA in Fremont all month. Likewise, YMCA members can show their member card at Hayes Presidential to receive free admission. For information on the YMCA, visit ymcafremont.org.

  • Member Swap: Wood County Museum. Hayes Presidential members can use their membership card to get free admission to the Wood County Museum for the month of June. 
  • Behind-the-Scenes: Manuscripts. Venture behind-the-scenes in our manuscripts storage areas with curator of manuscripts Julie Mayle.

  • Membership on the Road: Delaware, Ohio, birthplace of Rutherford B. Hayes. Hayes Presidential members will go on the road to visit Rutherford's birthplace and learn more about his and Lucy's life growing up in Delaware, Ohio.   • Off Site: Tour of the Clyde Museum with curator Gene Smith.

  • Tour the Sandusky County Historical Society. The Sandusky County Historical Society was formed on June 6, 1874. We believe we are the second historical society formed in the State of Ohio. Among the founders was Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th President of the United States who served as the Society’s first secretary. The original name of the society was the Sandusky County Pioneer and Historical Association. Hayes Presidential members can visit the society for free the following days:

  • Behind-the-Scenes: Member Open House. Explore the Hayes home at your leisure.   • Program: Civil War Calvary. 3 million horses and mules were in the Civil War, but we don’t often talk about their use and importance. From titans such as Lee’s Traveller and Grant’s Cincinnati down to our beloved Old Whitey, every horse helped shape the outcome of the war.

  • Talk/Tour: Hosting and Holidays with the Hayeses. Learn about the Hayes family’s role as hosts both in the White House and at Spiegel Grove during this deep dive of the Hayes home’s dining room.
