ALPHABETICAL INDEX TO WHITE HOUSE CALLING CARDS

DURING THE HAYES ADMINISTRATION

As part of the Hayes Papers, the White House calling card collection contains over 18,000 cards collected during the Hayes Administration from 1877 - 1881. The index, arranged alphabetically by surname, lists individuals who potentially visited the White House and Washington D.C. area.  Although an individual's calling card is housed within this collection, it does not confirm an in-person meeting with President Hayes.
