Event Description
Enjoy a Christmas-themed tour of the Hayes Home and learn about White House holiday firsts and traditions during A Presidential Christmas: Hayes Home Holidays, offered on four days in December.
During this special tour, hear stories about the first White House Christmas decorating theme, first outdoor Christmas tree and more while viewing decorations placed in the historic Hayes Home similar those used in the White House. The experience also will include stories about President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes and how they celebrated the holidays through the years.
This event includes an interactive experience and hot chocolate.
Tours are limited to six people. Participants must wear face-coverings and maintain 6 feet of social distance between their household group and other visitors.
Hayes Presidential can accommodate household groups of up to 10 people on a tour. Those who have a household group of no more than 10 people that wish to participate in this tour together should contact Hayes Presidential at 419-332-2081, ext. 217, to make special arrangements.
Tours last one hour and are offered:
- Saturday, Dec. 19 - 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 20 - 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, Dec. 22 - 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, Dec. 23 - 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets for Hayes Presidential members are $10 for adults 19 and older, $5 for ages 6-18 and free for ages 5 and younger. Tickets for non-members are $15 for adults 19 and older, $8 for ages 6-18 and free for ages 5 and younger.

Tickets also will be sold at the front desk the day of the event, pending availability. Tickets will shut off one hour before tour time.
The Museum Store also will be open during the tours for any last-minute holiday shoppers.
This is the third year Hayes Presidential has offered Hayes Home Holiday tours. Each year, the event has a different them and experience for visitors.
The tours are part of Hayes Presidential’s holiday season events, called A Presidential Christmas.
