About Endowment
The Rutherford B. Hayes Library and Museums’ Endowment supports one-third of the annual operating budget.
Your gift of money or property allows for ongoing support to the Library and Museums. The endowment is structured so that the principal amount is kept intact while some of the investment income is released each year.
The endowment was first funded by the President’s son, Webb Cook Hayes in 1916, when he founded the Nation’s First Presidential Library and Museum.
One way to support the Endowment is to become a member of LEGACY LEADERS
This is a donor leadership group comprised of people who demonstrate their recognition of the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums’ value by including the Library and Museums as a beneficiary in their wills, life insurance policies, annuities, or other planned-giving vehicles.
We know many of you already have included the Library and Museums in your planned giving but have not yet made it known to us.
Why is it important to inform us of your plans? As a Legacy Leader you will inspire others to do the same and secure the nation’s first presidential library for the next 100 years.
