How Your Gift Helps The Library & Museums

Your gifts to the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums help support the preservation of the Hayes Home, library and museum and the beautiful grounds. Gifts allow HPLM to continue the wide variety of educational programs held here each year including lectures, concerts, tours for school children, and continuing education for history teachers. Since the early 20th century, the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums has been a pioneer in the historic preservation of the life and times of our nation's highest elected officials. Your support allows us to continue our high standards of preservation and to continue to be is the nation's premier library for Hayes scholars, The Gilded Age, and Ohio genealogy.

Buildings and Grounds

Maintenance of the 25 acres property and its buildings requires thousands of dollars each year to cover labor and equipment costs and gifts are critical to its continuation.

Educational Programs

Donors and Sponsors are needed for us to provide year-round educational programs for both young and old alike.

Endowment Fund

The Rutherford B. Hayes Library and Museums’ Endowment supports one-third of the annual operating budget.

Your donation of money or property allows for ongoing support to the Library and Museums. The endowment is structured so that the principal amount is kept intact while some of the investment income is released each year.

The endowment was first funded by the President’s son, Webb Cook Hayes in 1916, when he founded the Nation’s First Presidential Library and Museum.

Donors and Sponsors are needed for us to provide year-round events for both young and old alike. We hope you support our efforts to host community events.
