Biographical Sketch
Jennie Lugenbeel Cromwell was born Jemima Souder on 11 May 1813 to David and Sarah (Weaver) Souder in Frederick County, Maryland. Her mother passed away in 1834, and several years later David moved with his five younger children—including Jennie—to Seneca County, Ohio. Jennie wed Andrew Lugenbeel, a mill owner and associate judge in Seneca County. Judge Lugenbeel died in 1863, at the age of 58; the couple had no children. Jennie Lugenbeel then married Thomas Cromwell on 11 October 1870 in Tiffin, Ohio. Ultimately she would have no children. Thomas passed away in 1879, and Jennie died on 10 February 1891. Jennie, her father, and her two husbands are buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin, Ohio.
