Introduction
The records of the Ottawa County, Ohio Treasurer's Office were microfilmed by the Center for Archival Collections at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. The microfilm is located in the Library Reading Room.

Agency History
The county Treasurer's Office was created under the Northwest Ordinance and continued under Ohio's 1802 constitution. The treasurer of each county is charged with publicizing the semiannual tax duplicate throughout the county. He collects the taxes, filing a report with the Auditor's Office. After collection, he distributes all funds to county entities as well as the state of Ohio.

Scope and Content
The collection, although incomplete, includes a single year's tax duplicate for Ottawa County, Ohio. In addition to the county duplicate, the film also contains tax lists from the Auditor's Office.
