Our volunteers are our strength

The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums has numerous volunteer opportunities for people interested in history, the presidency, genealogy and more. Volunteers are a critical part of special events and other operations, and their contributions are greatly appreciated.

Our volunteers help with:

  • Serving as museum docents giving museum tours to groups
  • Serving Christmas Dinners at Spiegel Grove
  • Hayes Easter Egg Roll
  • Verandah Concerts
  • Independence Day Concert
  • Exhibit openings
  • Kids events
  • Numerous other events
  • Working in the Museum Store
  • Research assistants in the Hayes Library, Manuscripts Department and development, marketing and business offices.
Volunteers are a critical part of HPLM's many special events, from GroveFest to Civil War camp.
