Hayes Presidential offers discounts, themed activities for Valentine’s Day weekend
From sleigh rides to discounts, the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums has plenty of activities for Valentines, Galentines, family and friends to celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend on Saturday, Feb. 14, and Sunday, Feb. 15.
Adult site passes that include a guided tour of the historic Hayes Home and a self-guided tour of the museum are buy one, get one free on Saturday, Feb. 14, and Sunday, Feb. 15. This deal is available at the museum front desk.
Hayes Home tours on both days will include some of the love stories of President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes’ strong, 36-year marriage.
In the museum, visitors can snap a selfie in the Valentine photo booth or use the provided phone holder to take a group picture. They can see a small display of historic Valentines from our collection, including some that the Hayes kids received, and learn about Esther Howland, “Mother of the American Valentine.”
Horse-drawn sleigh and trolley rides through Spiegel Grove, the 19-acre estate of the president and first lady and grounds of the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. Rides are by South Creek Clydesdales.
Sleigh rides are offered Saturday only, and trolley rides are offered both days. Sleigh rides are $7 per person ages 3 and older and free for ages 2 and younger. Trolley rides are $6 per person ages 3 and older and free for ages 2 and younger.

On Saturday, Feb. 14, the home, museum and presidential library are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first tour of the home is at 10 a.m., and the last tour is at 4 p.m.
On Sunday, Feb. 15, the home and museum are open from noon to 5 p.m. The first tour of the home is at 1 p.m., and the last tour is at 4 p.m. The library is closed.
Hayes Presidential is America’s first presidential library and the forerunner of the federal presidential library system. It is partially funded by the state of Ohio and affiliated with the Ohio History Connection. Hayes Presidential is located at Spiegel Grove on Buckland Avenue.
