Hayes Presidential joins Museums for All to give more access to people with economic hardships
Starting Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums will join Museums for All, a program that offers deeply discounted admission rates to people with economic hardships of all backgrounds and ages.
Through this program, those receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits can visit Hayes Presidential for the minimal fee of $3 per person for two adults and their dependent children ages 5 and older when they present their SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer EBT card. Dependent children younger than 5 are admitted for free.
This rate covers admission to tour the historic Hayes Home and the museum. The museum is self-guided. Hayes Home tours are guided and last an hour. They are offered at specific times, and information on tours can be found at https://www.rbhayes.org/visit-us/visitor-information/.
The EBT card cannot be used to pay for admission, but showing it will allow the cardholder to receive the discount.
For locals who need transportation, the TRIPS Fremont Shuttle is available to ride for $1 per trip. Though Hayes Presidential is not an official shuttle stop, riders may book a stop at Hayes in advance by calling 419-332-8091 prior to their rides. Shuttle routes are available at www.glcap.org/trips.
Museums for All is a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Association of Children’s Museums, to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits. Museums for All is part of Hayes Presidential’s broad commitment to seek, include and welcome all audiences.
Museums for All helps expand access to museums and also raise public awareness about how museums in the United States are reaching their entire communities. More than 850 institutions participate in the initiative, including art museums, children’s museums, science centers, botanical gardens, zoos, history museums and more. Participating museums are located nationwide, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
