FDR book author, Pulitzer Prize finalist to join book club for discuss via live video
The author of a Pulitzer-prize finalist book about President Franklin Delano Roosevelt will join the Presidential History Book Club via live video on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.
H.W. Brands will discuss his book “Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt” with the club at 1 p.m. in the Hayes Presidential auditorium.
The public is invited to attend this event. Admission is free. Participants do not need to have read the book.
Brands is a professor of history at the University of Texas at Austin. He has written 25 books, coauthored or edited five others and published dozens of articles and reviews. His work as appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, Smithsonian magazine and numerous other publications.
His writings have received critical and popular acclaim, and several of his books have been bestsellers. His book “The First American: The Life and Times of Benjamin Franklin,” also was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
The Hayes Presidential Library & Museums is America’s first presidential library and the forerunner of the federal presidential library system. It is partially funded by the state of Ohio and affiliated with the Ohio History Connection.
