White Family Charitable Fund of the Tiffin Charitable Foundation Sponsors Noble and Old Fort
“...students were excited and couldn’t wait to go [on their field trip]”
In April 2014, students from Calvert Catholic visited the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums as part of the center’s Curriculum Connections program. The White Family Charitable Fund of the Tiffin Charitable Foundation made their visit to the center possible. Teachers from Noble Elementary and Old Fort Elementary said their “students were excited and couldn’t wait to go” on their field trip. Students wrote thank you notes to their sponsor, The White Family Charitable Fund of the Tiffin Charitable Foundation, to show their appreciation for their visit to the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.
Designed as a three-part "satellite classroom" experience, Curriculum Connections provides each teacher with two educational DVD resources for classroom pre and post visit activities. Created by the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums staff, the fully-narrated DVDs complement the learning experience of students’ onsite visit. “Exploring Ohio's Past : A Visit to the Hayes Presidential Center” features the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums original documents, photographs, artifacts, and the physical environment of Spiegel Grove. Fully aligned with Ohio ’s Academic Content Standards, Curriculum Connections also encourages students’ critical thinking skills and creativity through its “How Can We Learn More?” follow-up activities.
Hayes Presidential Center Development Director, Kathy Boukissen, is seeking additional sponsors for school systems that do not have adequate funding for a visit.
