The people of Ohio, during the past year have, under Providence, enjoyed health and peace, prosperity and happiness. For these, and countless other blessings, they wish devoutly to express their gratitude and thankfulness to Almighty God. Therefore, THURSDAY, THE 30TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, A. D. 1871, is hereby appointed to be observed as a day of Thanksgiving and Prayer, according to the good custom of our fathers.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the Great Seal of the State of Ohio to be affixed, at Columbus, this 2nd day of November, A.D. 1871.
