To all to whom these presents shall come, greeting:

To the Sheriff of Jackson county, greeting:

WHEREAS, Satisfactory evidence has been received at this Department that a vacancy exists in the office of Representative from Jackson county, in the General Assembly of Ohio, caused by the death of WILLIAM S. WILLIAMS. You are hereby notified to hold a special election in said county, on Thursday, the 23rd day of March, 1871, ensuing, at the usual place of holding the same therein, for the purpose of filling such vacancy; and you will give notice of the time and place of holding such election in your proclamation.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Ohio to be affixed, at Columbus, this 9th day of March, 1871.
