The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums offers unpaid online store internships to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in communications, marketing, merchandising, sales, business, computer programming, and related disciplines. Students ideally possess skills in written and oral communication, creativity, and leadership. They should be self-motivated and energetic. The internship will require flexibility and the ability to perform well in a changing work environment both independently and as a part of a team. Experience editing web pages a strong plus.

Work Experience
The internship offers opportunities for students to acquire skills and experience outside the traditional academic setting. Researching, sourcing, writing and editing interesting merchandise content to be published for members and retail shoppers will be the primary objective of the internship. The intern will be able to explore ways to repurpose existing store web page content. The intern will also assist the Visitor Services Manager in crafting promotions and online outreach sales, as well as identifying new museum store content opportunities.

Schedule
Interns must have reliable transportation to and from the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. Hours are flexible according to your schedule, including both onsite and remote work.

Course credit
Most internships require 110 to 130 hours of work over the course of one but not more than two semesters. If course credit is to apply to the internship, students should make arrangements with the individual instructor.
