Seats available for popular Christmas dinners in Hayes Home
Enjoy an elegant, six-course Victorian holiday dinner in the dining room of the historic home of President Rutherford B. Hayes.
Seats for the popular Christmas dinners offered by the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in the Hayes Home are available for Friday, Dec. 8.
Three tickets are available for the Dec. 8 dinner, but HPLM can make four seats available to accommodate an even number of guests.
Dinners are from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The evening begins with a horse-drawn carriage ride from the guests’ cars to the ornate carriage entrance of President Rutherford B. Hayes’ home. Costumed Civil War reenactors and household staff see to guests’ every need, from helping ladies and gentlemen from the carriage to taking the coats when they enter the home.
Next comes entertainment by the costumed host and hostess, wassail and the feast. Tuxedo-clad butlers guide guests to their seats, where their meal and drinks are served on crystal and china. Performers provide classical music during dinner.
After the meal, guests enjoy entertainment and gifts in the parlor.
Cost is $250 per person, and $175 is tax-deductible. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 419-332-2081, ext. 238.
