Situated in Northwest Ohio, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center is located about 30 miles southeast of Toledo, and 60 miles west of Cleveland. Our main entrance is located at the corner of Hayes & Buckland avenues. ( We are less than an hour's drive from the Cedar Point Amusement Park.)

Driving instructions

From the WEST:
Take the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/90) east to Exit 91 (Fremont-Port Clinton). After leaving the turnpike, follow the signs for State Route 53-South (this will take you onto the US 20 bypass briefly, then back onto SR 53-South via Exit 98), after about 6 miles you come to the juncture of State Route 6-West. Turn LEFT at the traffic light (this is Hayes Avenue, but it is not labeled.) Just after the second traffic light on Hayes Avenue look for a flashing yellow light (2.2 miles from US 6). Turn RIGHT and immediately make a second RIGHT into the entrance of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center (located at the corner of Hayes and Buckland avenues).

From the EAST:
Take the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/90) west to Exit 91 (Fremont-Port Clinton). Take Interstate 75-South to the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/90) EAST*. Get off the Turnpike at Exit 91 (Fremont-Port Clinton). Follow the signs for State Route 53-South until you come to the juncture of State Route 6-West. Turn LEFT at the traffic light (this is Hayes Avenue, but it is not labeled.) Just after the second traffic light on Hayes Avenue look for a flashing yellow light (2.2 miles from US 6). Turn RIGHT and immediately make a second RIGHT into the entrance of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center (located at the corner of Hayes and Buckland avenues).
* Alternate route: Take Interstate 75-South to U.S. 20-East. Continue on U.S. 20 heading toward Fremont. Take the exit for State Route 53-South and continue to the juncture of State Route 6-West. Turn LEFT at the traffic light (this is Hayes Avenue, but it is not labeled.) Just after the second traffic light on Hayes Avenue look for a flashing yellow light (2.2 miles from US 6). Turn RIGHT and immediately make a second RIGHT into the entrance of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center (located at the corner of Hayes and Buckland avenues).

From the SOUTH:
Take Interstate 75-North to U.S. 6-East. Follow U.S. 6 for about 25 miles to the juncture of State Route 53. At the intersection continue STRAIGHT (this is Hayes Avenue, but it is not labeled.) Just after the second traffic light on Hayes Avenue look for a flashing yellow light (2.2 miles from US 6). Turn RIGHT and immediately make a second RIGHT turn into the entrance of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center (located at the corner of Hayes and Buckland avenues).
