Introduction
The Sandusky County, Ohio Photograph Collection is an artificial collection composed of images donated at various times through the years.
Formation of
In January 1820, the

In 1838, the Seneca Indians sold
their reservation to the federal government and moved west. These lands, lying partly in Ballville and
Green Creek townships, were surveyed the same year and placed on sale. Also, in May 1838,

The Sandusky County, Ohio
Photograph Collection contains more than 3,000 prints, photographs, and
drawings dating from 1850 to 1984.
