Born January 8, 1926, Naomi Marie Yeagle was the daughter of Paul Miland Yeagle (Lindsey, Ohio) and Bertha Elizabeth Avers (Elmore, Ohio). She was born at 503 Howland Street in Toledo, Ohio. Shortly after Naomi's birth, her mother suffered an attack of the flu. Bertha Elizabeth Avers Yeagle died January 16, 1926 at the age of twenty-five. Her maternal grandparents, Edward John Avers and Mathilda Clara Hoffman Avers resided in Elmore, Ottawa County, Ohio.
Naomi married Carl Norman Lowry of Elmore, Ohio, on April 5, 1946. Carl had served in World War II, returning in February 1946. The couple were married by Reverend Michael Yeagle in Lindsey, Ohio. Reverend Yeagle was a retired Methodist minister and great uncle of Naomi. Naomi and Carl were the parents of two sons: Miland James, born May 11, 1947, and Robert Norman, born January 27, 1951. Naomi was a teacher and a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Elmore, Ohio. She was active in community affairs.

While the bulk of the materials document ancestors who lived in Sandusky and Ottawa Counties of Northwest Ohio during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, photographs and photocopies of maps and church, cemetery, and census records also provide data on earlier generations of ancestors who lived in Perry County, Ohio; Reading, Pennsylvania; and Germany.
Much of the original family data preserved in this collection also appears as photocopies in A Gift of Heritage written by Naomi Yeagle Butler in 2001. Those interested in the families researched by Naomi Yeagle Butler may wish to consulted this work as well.
