Biographical Sketch
Nina Williams was born in June 1873 in Carroll
Township, Ottawa County, Ohio
to Mr. and Mrs. Enos E. Williams. Nina worked as a postal clerk in Nina, Ohio
where her father was appointed postmaster in 1899. It was discontinued in
1903. Nina,
Ohio was the area around the intersection of
Toussaint South and Toussaint East Roads, extending outward in Carroll Township. She also became interested in photography
prior to 1905. Miss Williams took
photographs of individuals, families, farm life, scenery, buildings, church
functions and bridges in the Oak Harbor, Ohio area. Having never married, Nina Williams resided on
the family farm and was a lifelong resident of Carroll Township. She died in August 1957.
Scope and Content
This collection, ca. 1905-1910, contains four glass plate
negatives taken by Nina Williams of Carroll
Township, Ottawa County, Ohio. The negatives depict monuments and the
Rutherford B. Hayes home in Fremont,
Ohio.
