Biographical Sketch

Lawrence F. Mylander was born 23 January 1895 in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to August G. and Lena (Westinghausen) Mylander.  He remained in the area throughout his life, and married Dorothy Slink on 17 April 1917.  Mylander was the owner of the Mylander Implement Company, as well as the Pontiac dealership in Oak Harbor.  In addition to his business affiliations, he was active in the community and gained membership in a number of local civic organizations—such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Ottawa County Automobile Dealer’s Association, and the Business Men’s Association.  He was also affiliated with various Masonic groups, including the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, the Royal Arch Masons 162, and the Order of the Eastern Star.  Mylander suffered a fatal heart attack at his home on Water Street in Oak Harbor on 5 December 1958.  He was 63 years old at the time of his death.
