2:30 - 3:45 - Ask Bruce questions and answers on how to use RootsMagic and other software he offers.

Learn the best techniques for entering information, notes, navigation; sources and repositories; adding photos; creating reports and charts, importing/exporting GEDCOM files, etc. Also learn how to combine reports to create a book using the Publish feature in RootsMagic.

Bruce Buzbee is the founder and president of RootsMagic,Inc., http://rootsmagic.com and the author of RootsMagicgenealogy software. He has been writing genealogy software for over 20 years, having originally written the very popular Family Originsgenealogy software. A resident of Springville, Utah, Buzbee will be exhibiting at the Ohio Genealogical Society Annual Conference in Huron, Ohio on May 1st -May 3rd, 2014 April 26th and 27th, 2013.

If you already a member, your membership will be extended a year from the expiration date.

For this day only the Hayes Presidential Center Library will be open at 12:00 to 1 pm for tours and research, but will be closed the rest of the afternoon.

Such internet sources as the Center's Ohio Obituary Index, along with FamilySearch.org, USGenweb.org, Worldcat.org, Findagrave.com, EllisIsland.org and other popular websites will be explored in depth.

May 4 – Sunday - 1–4 pm - RootsMagic Workshop with Bruce Buzbee (Free – no charge) -The author of the program, from Utah, spends an afternoon explaining the latest version of his popular genealogical software.

May 17 – Saturday – Internet Genealogy II – Becky Hill - How to make the most of the paid subscription sites available at the Hayes Presidential Center – Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, Fold3; NewspaperArchives.com, NewEnglandAncestors.org and Archives.com.

May 24 – Saturday – Old Family Photos - Care, Digitizing and Organization - Gil Gonzalez, Head of Photographic Resources – Learn how to identify the photographic process, preserve, digitize and organize your family photos in this one extended workshop.

June 7 -Saturday - Searching Your Ohio Roots – Becky Hill, Head Librarian, will concentrate on Ohio resources for tracking down your family in the Buckeye state – vital records, land records, printed and online materials. She will also touch on the migration patterns to the state

June 21 – Saturday – How to Take Better Family Photos - Gil Gonzalez, Head of Photographic Resources – Learn how to use your camera to its best potential to take great family photos.

September 13 – Saturday - Beginning Genealogy – Becky Hill, Head Librarian– An overview of how to get started doing your family history, especially using the resources available at the Hayes Library.

Oct. 11 – Saturday - Internet Genealogy I – Free genealogical websites - Becky Hill - Attendees will be provided with instruction on the basics of how to utilize the free genealogical websites in their family history research.
