Joe Faykosh - Intern 2006 Ohio Humanities Council
Joe Faykosh
The Hayes Presidential Center welcomed Joe Faykosh of Defiance, Ohio as a summer intern. The Hayes Center proved to be a perfect place for Joe to pursue his lifelong interest in the U. S. Presidency. His ten-week internship was supported by the Ohio Humanities Council's Community History Grants Program.
A 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University, Joe provided valuable assistance to staff members in nearly every department at the Hayes Presidential Center. He gained a broad experience by helping mount the "Art of the Stamp" exhibit, cataloging artifacts, updating the online Museum Store, assisting at Dillon House Teas and Verandah Concerts; scanning documents; entering data in the Hayes Obituary Index; processing
Manuscript Collections; and assisting at the Reception Desk and in the Museum Store. Joe even accompanied staff members to the Sandusky County Fair where he helped publicize the Hayes Home restoration project! Joe commented that "it worked out better than I ever could have imagined!" The entire staff wishes Joe the very best in his future endeavors!
