- The charge is $0.10 per photocopied page of obituary (long obituaries or those continued in the next column or on another page may mean more than one page), plus a $1.00 flat fee for postage & handling, regardless of the number of photocopies. One page, $1.10, 2 pages, $1.20, 3 pages $1.30, and so on. Requests should include name, address, telephone number, and e-mail
of the person making the request.
- Please cite all information found in the index, including full name of the deceased, maiden name where applicable if known, name of newspaper, date of paper, page and column numbers, and date of death if known.

Of course, it is always possible for the researcher to visit the Washington County Public Library in person. Copies of the obituaries on site are $0.10 each and there is no postage/handling charge.
Washington County Public Library has Washington County newspapers on microfilm, also some from Athens, Monroe, Noble, and Morgan County and Wood and Pleasants Countiy, WV, listed in this index. We cannot find obituaries without a date. For other newspapers listed in the Obituary Index, check the List of Newspapers under "Location" to verify which library owns the newspaper microfilm at http://www.rbhayes.org/hayes/index/list.asp.
