Event List

Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Event Title: The Gilded Age of Haviland China
Event Description: In the early 19th century, Americans looked to Europe when purchasing china. When importer David Haviland no longer could satisfy his customers' tastes for embellished fine china, good-old American ingenuity came into play. Haviland built his own factory in Limoges, France, to turn out the finest china in the world with artistic flourishes to satisfy his U.S. customers. Numerous examples of some of the earliest pieces of Haviland China (1850-1890) are on display in this unique exhibit sponsored by the Randolph J. & Estelle M. Dorn Foundation.

Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event Title: HPC Croquet Club - club play
Event Description: Members of the Hayes Presidential Center Croquet Club are invited to a club play on the courts located in front of the Hayes Home.

Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event Title: Vintage Base Ball match
Event Description: The Hayes Presidential Center’s Spiegel Grove Squires demonstrate how our national pastime started in this match of 1860s-style base ball. Historically accurate equipment, uniforms, and rules make for an exciting and entertaining experience in history. The Squires welcome the Stemtown Stinkers for this home match in Squire's Field. Sponsored by the Randolph J. & Estelle M. Dorn Foundation.
