Event List

Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Event Title: Hayes Train Special
Event Description: Everyone is a kid again as they watch eight different model trains travel a 12x24-foot, three-tier model train layout. All of the trains are styles that relate to 19th U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes and his family. Visitors act as engineers lifting gates, flashing lights, sounding the whistle, and more, via a series of interactive buttons. A miniature Victorian village provides a picturesque setting through which the trains travel. Sponsored by Croghan Colonial Bank and the Gordon W. Knight Family.

Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Event Title: Rutherford B. Hayes: Buckeye President
Event Description: In his first term as Ohio governor, Rutherford B. Hayes urged the legislature to establish a land-grant college funded by the sale of public lands given to the state by the Morrill Act of 1862. Hayes’ persistence resulted in creation of the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College – later known as The Ohio State University. The Hayes Presidential Center highlights the strong link between Rutherford Hayes and the university in its new exhibit 'Rutherford B. Hayes: Buckeye President' on exhibit Oct. 17, 2013 through April 13, 2014. This exclusive exhibit is made possible through funding from Diversified Insurance and Auto-Owners Insurance.

Time: 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Event Title: Christmas Dinners at Spiegel Grove

Hayes Presidential Center. This elegant evening features a six-course Victorian feast modeled on State Dinners served in the Hayes White House, costumed staff, period entertainment, and more! Seating is limited to 24 guests per night. Cost is $250 per person ($175 is tax deductible).
