Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Event Title: The War of 1812 on the Ohio Frontier
Event Description: In commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the Hayes Museum presents an exclusive exhibit detailing Northwest Ohio’s influential role in turning the War of 1812 from a defeat to victory. Artifacts and manuscripts from the Hayes Presidential Center Collections, area museums and historical societies, and the private collection of Lou Schultz offer insights into the war’s battles fought on the Ohio frontier. Made possible through sponsorship from the Sidney Frohman Foundation.

Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Event Title: Hayes Civil War Reenactment
Event Description: Mark the birthday of Ohio Civil War hero and 19th U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes by experiencing life during the Civil War. Hundreds of costumed Civil War re-enactors camp on the grounds of the Hayes estate for this two-day event sponsored by Memorial Hospital. Soldiers conduct military drills, chat with visitors and re-create an actual Civil War battle on the lawn in front of the Hayes Home. The highlight is a formal, military graveside service. Veterans, re-enactors, and active-duty personnel also take part in this solemn, moving observance. Additional funding provided by Mosser Construction Inc. Event admission $4/adult, $2/children 6-12. Take advantage of discounts on admission to the Hayes Home and Museum.
