537. John Rutherford Pease was born on 1 February 1804 in Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY. He died on 2 February 1860 in Fremont, Sandusky Co., OH.4 Upon John Pease's death, Oscar Ball of Fremont was appointed guardian of his minor children, April 1, 1869. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, Sandusky Co., OH. He was a hardware merchant. He emigrated to Ohio in 1835 and settled in Fremont, OH. He became a tinsmith in Fremont. He was a Democrat and he liked to gamble.
"When John R. Pease first came to Ohio, he spent four weeks with us at Delaware; his Mother was a beloved sister of my Husband's. His father died when he was an infant; he was fond of chequers. I advised him to learn chess and taught him the names of the men and their moves; he could beat me as soon as he knew the moves..."

Frances "Fanny" Pease was born on 26 August 1856 in Fremont, Sandusky Co., OH. She died on 1 January 1940 in Fremont, Sandusky Co., OH. She lived in 812 Ewing St., Fremont, OH in 1940. Fanny was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, Sandusky Co., OH. "Dear Fanny Pease's birthday - 70! I took her over to Rainbow Gardens for 6 o'clock dinner. We walked back, slowly, and enjoyed it all"

"She studied at Cincinnati, at the Boston Conservatory and in New Jersey, as well as at the summer school of Music at Chautauqua, NY. For more than 50 years, who had a studio and taught piano in Fremont"
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fremont and many organizations.
