William Frisbie⁴ was born on 31 December 1789 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY.⁴ He died on 14 March 1837 in Baltimore, Cortland Co., NY.⁴ "Captain of the Resolution (wrecked in the Gulf Stream near the Bermudas), afterwards many years in the S. American trade; an excellent officer, rigid in discipline, chivalrous towards women, of great business integrity" (Hayes, 1884, p. 21).

William Frisbie and Catharine Avery Ruth were married. Catharine Avery Ruth⁴ was born in 1800.

William Frisbie and Catharine Avery Ruth had the following children:

490	vii.	Mary Caroline Frisbie4 was born in 1835. She died in 1870.
