96. Rev. Joel Hayes⁴ was born on 10 January 1753. He graduated in 1773.⁴ Was A.M. He died on 29 July 1827 in South Hadley, Hampshire Co., MA.⁴ "died while in the act of preaching to his people." according to Charles Hayes of Windsor (1886), page 45. For 45 years Joel was a Congregational Pastor in South Hadley, Hampshire Co., MA.⁴ He was buried in South Hadley, Hampshire Co., MA.⁴ "He is said to have been one of the 'Boston Tea Party' of 1773, but for this I find no other authority than tradition." -George Hayes of Windsor (1886), page 45.

Rev. Joel Hayes and Mary Bliss were married on 25 July 1782 in Wilbraham, MA. Mary Bliss⁴ was born on 4 February 1762 in Wilbraham, MA. She died on 22 July 1825 in S. Hadley, MA. She was buried in South Hadley, Hampshire Co., MA.⁴
