KF Construction Sponsors Clyde-Green Springs Students' Visit to the Hayes Presidential Center

Thank You note from Green Springs Student

In May 2014, KF Construction sponsored the visit of nearly 160 4th graders from Clyde-Green Springs schools. During their visit students had the opportunity to visit both the Hayes Home and Museum. The entire experience was part of the Hayes Presidential Center’s Curriculum Connections program. Those teachers who planned the visit and accompanied their students noted that “The students learn so many things by observation of the settings that we cannot possibly have them experience inside our classroom.” Students showed their appreciation for their sponsor by writing thank you notes to KF Construction, one of these notes is pictured above.

Curriculum Connections allows teachers and students to better connect with our nation’s past, Ohio’s history, and our local history while addressing Ohio’s Social Studies and English/Language Arts Academic Standards. The program finds sponsors, like KF Construction, that are willing to cover admission and/or transportation costs for school children to visit the Hayes Presidential Center.

Hayes Presidential Center Development Director Kathy Boukissen is seeking additional sponsors for school systems that do not have adequate funding for a visit. For more information about Curriculum Connections or to donate to the program contact Kathy at 419-332-2081, ext. 226 or email her at kboukissen@rbhayes.org.
