Exchange Club of Fremont Sponsors Students from St. Joseph.

Student Thank You Notes to Exchange Club

In April 2014, 4th grade students from Bishop Hoffman Catholic School - St. Joseph Campus visited the Hayes Home and Museum as part of the Hayes Presidential Center’s Curriculum Connections program. The Exchange Club of Fremont made their visit possible. Teachers who planned their students' visit commented that the Curriculum Connections program "provides a hands-on link to Ohio's 4th grade social studies standards." Students who visited wrote thank you notes to their sponsor, the Exchange Club of Fremont, one of these notes is pictured above.

Designed as a three-part "satellite classroom" experience, Curriculum Connections provides each teacher with two educational DVD resources for classroom pre and post visit activities. Created by the Hayes Center staff, the fully-narrated DVDs complement the learning experience of students’ onsite visit. Aligned with Ohio ’s Academic Content Standards, Curriculum Connections encourages students’ critical thinking skills and creativity.

Hayes Presidential Center Development Director Kathy Boukissen is seeking additional sponsors for school systems that do not have adequate funding for a visit. For more information about Curriculum Connections or to donate to the program contact Kathy at 419-332-2081, ext. 226 or email her at kboukissen@rbhayes.org.
