ilearnOhio

ilearnOhio is a comprehensive e-learning platform funded by the Ohio General Assembly to ensure that Ohio students have access to high-quality online courses. This statewide platform includes a searchable repository of standards-aligned educational content (courses and digital resources), an e-commerce marketplace, and a learning management system to facilitate the delivery of course content from multiple providers to various end users. ilearnOhio is administered by the Ohio Resource Center, located at the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University, under the direction of the Ohio Board of Regents.

The ilearnOhio resource repository includes:

  • Standards-aligned, peer-reviewed digital resources from multiple content providers
  • Instructional support materials
  • Assessment items
  • Professional development resources

The ilearnOhio marketplace offers:

  • Fee-based online courses from a variety of content developers
  • Commercially produced course curriculum
  • Online courses, including Advanced Placement options, credit recovery courses and modules, and tutorials

Full adoption of the ilearnOhio learning management system (LMS) provides:

  • No-cost access to the LMS for Ohio schools
  • Access from any computer with Internet connectivity
  • Local administrator controls to manage access, purchase content, develop and deliver locally developed courses, and track local usage
  • Individualized learning environments giving educators access to the following:
    • Lesson Builder (create and customize instructional units, online courses, and curricular supplements)
    • Assessment Builder (build and deliver class-based assessments)
    • Student Portal (multiple-course, simultaneous enrollment capability)
    • Student Access Log to monitor student use
    • Dropbox (information-sharing tool)
    • Gradebook
    • Parent Portal
    • Content-sharing functionality
