THANKSGIVING DAY PROCLAMATION

 

November 4, 1870

Columbus, Ohio

 

In accordance with usage, and the religious sentiment of Ohio, the Twenty-fourth day of November next is hereby appointed a day of Thanksgiving and Prayer to Almighty God, for the boundless blessings He has vouchsafed to the American people during the past year.

 

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Ohio to be affixed, at Columbus, this 29th day of October, A.D. 1870.
