SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION (8TH
SENATORIAL DISTRICT)

To all
to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting:
WHEREAS, Satisfactory information has been received at this
Department that a vacancy exists in the office of Senator, in the Eighth
Senatorial District, composed of the counties of Coshocton and Tuscarawas,
caused by the death of Hon. D.W. Stambaugh, you are hereby notified and
directed to hold special elections in said counties on Tuesday, the 9th
day of February, ensuing, at the usual place of holding the same therein, for
the purpose of filling such vacancy; and you will give notice of the time and
place for holding such election in your several proclamations.

Ohio, this 25th day of January, 1869.
