The friends of David Todd will not think I exaggerate when I say that the best loved citizen of Ohio is dead. Others may be better able to express their feelings, but to my mind there are but three ways of showing ones respect to the honored dead. First, by slow, sad music; second, by heartfelt emotions; third, by what I must be permitted on this occasion to give—silence.
