SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION (26TH SENATORIAL DISTRICT)
August 13, 1868
To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting:
To the several Sheriffs of Warren, Clinton, Greene and Clarke counties, Greeting:
WHEREAS, Satisfactory evidence having been received at this Department that a vacancy exists in office of Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the second sub-division of the Second Judicial District, composed of the counties of Warren, Clinton, Clarke and Greene, caused by the resignation of Judge J. J. Winans, you are hereby directed to hold special elections in said counties, on the second Tuesday in October, ensuing, at the usual place of holding the same therein, for the purpose of filling such vacancy; and you will give notice of the time and place of holding such election, in your several proclamations.
