SAVINGS SOCIETY PROCLAMATION

To all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting:

KNOW YE, That whereas John G. Peebles, P. C. Gunn, R. Bell, J. Thompson, E. Miller, George A. Waller, J. L. Hibbs, W. W. Little, S. Lehman, J. N. Murray, A. Bentley, W. H. Lampton, J. M. Lynn, A. McFarland, J. B. Gregory, F. C. Searl, C. P. Lloyd, Wm. H. Bonsall, J. S. Pollitt, Elijah Glover, A. H. Buskirk, Joseph Riggs, B. B. Gaylord and George Davis, have filed in the office of the Board of Commissioners for Savings Societies, a certificate as required by law, and an application to establish a Savings Society, under the name of the “Portsmouth Savings Society” of Portsmouth and county of Scioto, with place of business in the city of Portsmouth and county of Scioto, and said application having been approved by the Board of Commissioners for Savings Societies, and the requirements of the law passed April 16th, 1867, having been fully complied with, I do hereby make proclamation that the said John G. Peebles and others above named are authorized to commence and carry on a Savings Society in the city of Portsmouth and county of Scioto, under the name and style aforesaid, with all the rights and privileges and under the obligations of the laws established by this State.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Ohio to be affixed, at Columbus, this 13th day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and of the Independence of the United States the ninety-fourth.
