SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION (LORAIN COUNTY)
August 29, 1870
To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting:
To the Sheriff of Lorain County, Greeting:
WHEREAS, Satisfactory evidence has been received at this Department that a vacancy exists in the office of Representative from the county of Lorain, in the General Assembly of Ohio, caused by the resignation of Jamin Strong, Jr., you are hereby notified to hold a special election in said county on the second Tuesday of October next ensuing, at the usual place of holding the same therein, for the purpose of filling such vacancy; and you will give notice of the time and place of holding such election in your proclamation.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Ohio to be affixed, at Columbus, this 29th day of August, 1870.
