SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION (11th SENATORIAL DISTRICT)

To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting:

To the several Sheriffs of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties, Greeting:

WHEREAS, Satisfactory information has been received at this Department that a vacancy exists in the office of Senator in the Eleventh Senatorial District, composed of the counties of Clark, Champaign and Madison, caused by death of John Russell, you are hereby notified and directed to hold special elections in said counties on the fifth Tuesday of December ensuing, at the usual place of holding the same therein, for the purpose of filling such vacancy; and you will give notice of the time and place of holding such election in your several proclamations. Given under my hand and the Great Seal of the State of Ohio, this 18th day of December, 1869.
