MEMORANDUM REPORTED BY THE EVENING STAR CONCERNING OBSERVANCE OF MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY

 

Sir:* I am directed by the President of the United States to say that the several Departments of the Government will be closed on Friday, the 30th instant, in remembrance of those who fell in defense of the nation, and to enable the employees to participate in the commemorative ceremonies of the day.
