Steve Bare - 2015

Steve began an internship with the Manuscripts Division at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums in January 2015. Steve is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Toledo. Steve is researching materials within the collections at the Hayes Presidential Center for his dissertation, "And the Band Played On: Memory, Memorialization, and Remembrance Tourism: 1865 - 1933." Steve's specialization is in historical memory and military engagements from the Civil War through World War I. Steve is helping catalogue the John Davis Skilton Collection for the Hayes Presidential Library.

Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Steve received a master's degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University and earned a Master of Heritage Preservation from Georgia State University. Steve's Bachelor of Arts degree is in History is from the University of South Florida.
